Every year, the 7th and 8th grade classes attend a choral festival, put on by our local conference, and hosted by one of our sister schools. This year the event will be held at Escondido Adventist Academy on February 28, 2020, and the evening performance will begin at 7pm.
Our students will travel to the school, spend the whole day working with a professional choir director, and perform that evening. I think this day is important for a few reasons:
- Students connect with others from many schools in the context of music
- A professional choral director works with the students to develop their vocal abilities
- Large group collaboration is an important skill that is developed at this event
- OAE students become better prepared for our spring performance at the church, tentatively scheduled for May 16
It’s really fun to hear two or three hundred students singing together. Family and friends are all welcome to attend the evening performance.
